This is a workshop for burlesque performers who are looking to improve their skills on stage. We will learn how to bring dynamism to the choreographies, regardless of the burlesque style, in order to make them more intense and attractive. We will learn how to create an act that makes sense and that matches the music and costumes, as well as some movement tips that characterize a gorgeous burlesque dancer.
Burlesque comes from the word Burla, which means “mock”, “make fun of”. It’s so gorgeous it’s borderline ridiculous. The idea is to push the ideals to the extreme, so much, it becomes ridiculous. Burlesque is stripTEASE, emphasis on the tease. A burlesque dancer/performer is, at heart, a stripper. Cabaret style.
